I've not been to many weddings in my life. Most of the people I know have eloped... not such a bad idea. I've been to more of my own weddings... lol... anyways, here's the dilemma. I've got two weddings to go to this spring... April 25th my cousin is getting married and then on May 5th my good friend at work is getting married. I can only afford to buy ONE new dress.... but what kind of dress??? What is appropriate???? Any suggestions from you fashion mavens out there would help tremendously!!!!
***So, I've been browsing the net today instead of working, racking my brain about a dang dress!!! I've picked a few. What do ya'll think? The one little dress with the ruffles on the bottom is not black, it's eggplant.

Vanessas wedding will be an evening Church wedding . All the bridesmaid dresses are going to be black.
Your best bet would to be something classic .You can add a shrug, shawl or even a cool necklace to make them have different kind of looks for each wedding. Make sure its something you are comfortable in . Oh! And dont wear white. HAHA!
I totally second KCLC, dont wear white!
My choice would be something conservative colored, classic, and semi-formal. The reason I say semi-formal is because it is just the right amount of formality for the wedding previously mentioned, however you can still wear it six months down the road to church, friend's going away party, social event, etc.
Okay, so you've got one evening wedding, which sounds like the semi-formal, maybe something black, would work. How about the other one? Is it an evening wedding, a day wedding, outside, inside?
Probably like KCLC said...go with something simple, yet classic, black and short length, dress it up with cute shoes, necklace, shrug or shawl.....it's actually amazing what you can do with one little classic black dress....
If this doesn't help, go to a boutique, or somewhere like Dillard's, they usually always have someone very helpful in the dress department who can steer you in the right direction.
Good luck and happy shopping!! ;-)
Black dresses can be dressed up or down so that may be a good choice. Unless you go out and see something that is just "perfect" for you. Then go with that. I say dressy, but not too dressy that you wouldn't want to wear it out somewhere else.
Have fun shopping! Wish I could go too!
The top dress is cute. Plus a black shrug would go good with it incase its chilly.
The second , while it is very spring timey , I think it would be better for a day time wedding.
However the bottem one would probably be my choice. Its a solid color not a print, so you can really play it up. Also eggplant is one of those colors that looks good on almost all skin tones. If the other wedding is a day time wedding, you could wear a pretty pastel colored necklace to lighten it up.
Awwwww the choices!
HI tahnks for stopping by my blog.
Your blog is sooo fun!
I love the dresses you picked..my choice would be #1 or #3...but any one of these would be pretty!
ooooooohhhhh...I love the last one!! You should go with that one!!! HOT!!
Thanks for following me!!
I love the dress on top. I think these types of dresses are great for Spring weddings. I always head to Ross or TJ Maxx when I need a wedding dress. They seem to accommodate for a great price. And, I've found some seriously cute stuff!!
I say jeans and t-shirt...lol. I'm all for comfy and no one is going to notice you anyways. It's all about the bride that day :)This could possible be why I HATE shopping....
I like the first dress! I think it would be super:)
Definitely #1, or #3, but my choice would be #3....very cute and fun, and will work for both.
Either way, you will look great!!!
Wow, your blog got a new look I like! I really like the second dress and would pick that if I had to wear a dress. Me would much prefer to go in blue jeans or PJ's. Not a girly girl her!
