it's been awhile.....

I'm ashamed, I admit it. I've gotten so terribly lazy. On top of being extremely busy. Who knew that raising three kids while holding down a full time job could be so time consuming??? ha ha... just kidding.

So what has happened since my last visit to the blogosphere????

Hmmm, my sister bought a house and we got her moved in and even had a Housewarming party... See for yourself...

This was quite a journey in itself and it wasn't even me buying the home.

What else?? Oh yea, my oldest turned 17!!! What a way to make a woman feel old.... and want to cry at the same time. Even though she's turning into quite the young lady, she is still my little girl.

and my baby, my sweet angel, celebrated her first birthday 4 days after her sister turned 17!

ohhhh, and we celebrated halloween by going to a relative's house for a bonfire and a good time had by all....

now, just trying to prepare for the upcoming holidays... whoa! this year has really flown by...

It's been a while

Oh my, it's been such a long time since I've blogged! Summer 2009 has been a busy one indeed!!! And I don't even know where to start...

We started off in June going home to TX for the family reunion which I briefly blogged on. Then in July we took a girls' only trip to Dallas to see Keith Urban and Jason Aldean in concert. WOW! What a weekend.... That was followed by a quick trip to Houston and San Antonio to tend to some family business.

Through all of this we've played ball and did some fishing.

Now school is upon us and I have a junior in high school and one that started jr. high. Where does the time go??? And my baby girl will be a year old in just two months!!! Wow!!! There goes time flying by at lightning speed again.

Work has been busy and I'm preparing to go to Houston this weekend to visit with my sister and help her pick out some things for the new house she is having built. I'm very excited for her and glad I can be there to help her through it all. I love shopping!!! lol.. she despises it.

Not much else going on so I'm just going to post some pics... lol... besides, I know you all just wanna see how much Addison has grown~!

Urbanski family reunion

This past weekend the 2009 Urbanski Family Reunion was held.  This happens once every two years.  And my mother and the rest of the family all get together for food and fun.  It's always nice to go home to Texas for the event.

Just thought I'd share a few pics with you.

the buzzard, bat and bumblebee

THE BUZZARD:
If you put a buzzard in a pen that is 6 feet by 8 feet and is entirely
open at the top, the bird, in spite of its ability to fly, will be an absolute prisoner. The reason is that a
buzzard always begins a flight from the ground with a run of 10 to 12
feet. Without space to run, as is its habit, it will not even attempt to fly, but will remain a prisoner for life in a small jail with no top.

THE BAT:
The ordinary bat that flies around at night, a remarkable nimble
creature in the air, cannot take off from a level place.  If it is placed on the floor or flat ground, all it can do is shuffle about
helplessly and, no doubt, painfully, until it reaches some slight
elevation from which it can throw itself into the air. Then, at once, it takes off like a flash.

THE BUMBLEBEE:
A bumblebee, if dropped into an open tumbler, will be there until it
dies, unless it is taken out.  It never sees the means of escape at the top, but persists in trying to find some way out through the sides near
the bottom.  It will seek a way where none exists, until it completely destroys itself.

PEOPLE:
In many ways, we are like the buzzard, the bat, and the bumblebee
...

We struggle about with all our problems and frustrations, never realizing that all we have to do is look up!

That's the answer, the escape route and the solution to any problem!

Just look up. Sorrow looks back, Worry looks around, But faith looks up!

Live simply, love generously, care deeply, speak kindly and trust in our Creator who loves us

Addy's bag

My dear friend, Dinnetta, made this awesome bag for Addison.  We are going out of town this weekend and she needed something sassy!

You rock Dinnetta!

Hotmail® has ever-growing storage! Don't worry about storage limits. Check it out.

She's growing up way too fast!

The adoption is taking forever!  I'll be glad when it's over.

Life has been hectic.  Hopefully things will go back to normal soon!

I'd be ever so thankful!

THINGS I LEARNED IN TX

THINGS I LEARNED FROM BEING RAISED IN TEXAS

Armadillos sleep in the middle of the road, with their feet in the air.

There are 5,000 types of snakes on earth, and 4,998 live in Texas.

There are 10,000 types of spiders.  All 10,000 live in Texas , plus a couple no one's seen before.

If it grows, it sticks..  If it crawls, it bites.

                                'Twiced' is a word.

People actually grow and eat okra.

                                'Fixinto' is one word.

There is no such thing as 'lunch.'  There is only dinner and then supper.

Iced tea is appropriate for all meals and you start drinking it when you're two.  We do like a little tea with our sugar!

'Backwards and forwards' means I know everything about you!

Djeet is actually a phrase meaning 'Did you eat?'

You don't have to wear a watch because it doesn't matter what time it is.  You work until you're done or it's too dark to see.

You don't PUSH buttons, you MASH them.

You measure distance in hours.  Like it's 6 hours from Houston to Dallas.

You'll probably have to switch from 'heat' to 'A/C' in the same day.

'Fix' is a verb.  Example:  'I'm fixing to go to the store.'

You install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked.

Yes, Friday night high school football games is serious football!

You carry jumper cables in your car...  For your OWN car.

There are only four spices:  salt, pepper, Tabasco and ketchup.

The local papers cover national and international news on one page, but require 6 pages for local gossip and sports.

100 degrees Fahrenheit is 'a little warm.'

We have four seasons:  Almost Summer, Summer, still Summer and Christmas.

Going to Wal-mart is a favorite past time known as 'goin' to Wally-World.'

A cool snap (below 70 degrees) is good pinto-bean weather.

A carbonated soft drink isn't a soda, cola or pop... it's a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor.  Example:  'What kind a coke you want?'

Fried catfish is the other white meat.

We don't need no stinking driver's ed... If our mama says we can drive, we can drive.

If you understand these jokes, please forward them to your friends from Texas (and those who just wish they were).

EVERYONE can't be from Texas.  You might say it's a gift from God!

And the most important thing we learn growing up in TEXAS is... IN GOD WE TRUST.

Final Idol???

Time to voice your opinion... Who do you think will be this year's American Idol???

Glam Rocker Adam Lambert:

Or Sweet Kris Allen from the South:

Personally, I'm pulling for Kris... he was the underdog and has come along way!!! He is very original and actually sings instead of screeching half of his song!

Go Kris!!!

No words

There are no words to explain the saddness I feel after learning that sweet Kayleigh passed away yesterday.

Rest in Peace beautiful baby girl.
